This design is an adaptive re-use expression of the International Broadcasting Center (IBC), built in 2018 for the PyeongChang Winter Olympics. It is contextually inspired from the prominent lines found in the visual aesthetics of traditional houses found in South Korea called ‘Hanok’ (Korean: 한옥, 韓屋).

Jefferey Hutchison and Associates (JHA), the renowned New York-based fashion retail design firm, recently completed the Men’s and Women’s Luxury Fashion, Beauty, and Jewelry floors within the new Shinsegae Daejeon Art & Science department store, located in Expo-ro, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon. The newest Shinsegae Department Store becomes the largest regional landmark, and combines culture, art, and science in a futuristic shopping environment offering a variety of experiential content.

The initial proposals (by UNStudio, BIG, Steven Holl, Snohetta, Grafton and ALA) were first whittled down to three, then two finalists, before the winning design was finally announced. The winning consortium comprises design partners UNStudio and DA Group, Squint/Opera (digital content and exhibition design), Loos van Vliet (landscape design) and UNSense (community content).

The project’s total budget was $4000 for design, installation, and its maintenance for 6 months. As a Pavilion for Children’s Play, the aim is to awaken the children’s senses and create new play spaces for them to play together, to provide an installation work that children can play with their body in the outdoor exhibition spaces provided by the client.

With this retrofit, the headquarters of the world’s market leader in solar panels has been modernised to meet the most up to date sustainability requirements. Based on environmental considerations, a conscious decision was made to remodel the existing building, rather than for demolition and new build.

Featuring a nightclub in one building and indoor theme park in the other, the windowless structures feature three key design elements: imprints of the façade features of surrounding buildings, lifted entrances, and a golden entrance spot covering one corner of the nightclub building.

This 1,300-seat concert hall is located on an ocean side bluff overlooking the Tongyeong Harbor in South Korea. The Hyundai Motorstudio Goyang has opened its doors. It is the largest centre of automotive culture in Korea, a brand world used by car maker Hyundai to present itself to a broad public. Up to 2,000 visitors per day are expected at the favourable location between the airport and Seoul city centre. The spacious, light-filled building comes from the Viennese architects Delugan Meissl, the exhibition having been designed by ATELIER BRÜCKNER, Stuttgart.

‘La Ville de Pins’ is a French Restaurant Remodeling project in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, which is the hottest district at metropolitan area in the city of Seoul, Korea. I thought that the conciseness might tell the message more strongly in the age when the extraordinary designs are rampant formatively and visually. Therefore, I designed this space only with white color and shapes of extremely moderated straight line on the whole.
