MAD Architects has completed Jiaxing Train Station, the firm’s first transportation infrastructure reconstruction and expansion project. Located at the center of Jiaxing, a historic city 100 kilometers southwest of Shanghai, the project replaces a dysfunctional train station that had stood at the site between 1995 and 2019.

Xiuwu County, situated in the western part of Henan Province within Jiaozuo City, was historically known as Huaiqing Prefecture. Blessed with unique soil and climate conditions, Xiuwu has been renowned as a production base of “Four traditional Chinese medicine herbs,” with Rehmannia (also called “Di Huang” in Chinese) being one of them.

CTBUH 2023 Best Tall Building Award 400+ Meters
Guangxi China Resources Tower, a 403-meter-tall (1,322-foot-tall) skyscraper in Nanning, China, took home the top honor in the tallest building category at the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) Awards Ceremony. Developed by CR Land, the 86-story tower totals 272,260 square meters, including the 320-key Shangri-La Nanning hotel, 172,740 square meters of office space and 5,930 square meters of retail.

Fire at China Telecom Building in Changsha:

An enormous fire has engulfed a skyscraper in Changsha, state media reports.

Footage posted on social media showed massive flames racing up the 42-storey China Telecom Building‘s side as office workers rushed to evacuate the tower.

Thick clouds of black smoke billowed out of the structure, which is a regional office for China Telecom.

Authorities said the flames have since been extinguished and that no casualties had yet been reported.

The 218m (715ft) tall structure was completed in the year 2000 and located near a major ring road in this Chinese city of around 10 million population.

This Chinese commercial building project utilises a simple elegant form. It is derived from the northern light, which creates the twisting shape of the 180m tall tower to form expressive double-curved surfaces on the building façades. Vertical lines accentuate the minimalistic form and through the effect of reflection and refraction from the glass create a design statement that celebrates light as the major tool to define architecture.

Nordic’s winning concept for the Chongqing Jiangbei International Terminal 3B interior integrates elements of wellbeing with engaging programmes and experiences. Inspired by the local rivers, Nordic collaborated with UDG, ADC and Lichtvision to create a journey where passengers travel through a history of Chongqing’s rich culture and scenery, using past, present, and future themes.
