Cooperative, attractive environments that focus as much as possible on the employee, these were the starting points of architects Luciana Araújo and Nathália Otoni, who run the office “Óbvio Arquitetura”, for a performance management company, located in Belo Horizonte, with 1,044m². Pleasant, integrated spaces, so that there were no barriers between genders, positions and even psychological, of disputes for spaces, these were other major objectives of the project.

In order for employees to feel comfortable and relaxed in the work environment, the integration of spaces took place right from the beginning and, along with it, one of the first steps to be taken was to leave the large windows free, from floor to ceiling, which open widely to the Renné Gianneti Municipal Park, the Municipal Park of Belo Horizonte, taking advantage of the natural lighting and feeling of well-being and relaxation that the view causes.

The main meeting room, the living spaces and the café – where you can also have a quick meeting – face the greenery of the park. We also installed a mirror on the ceiling, which reflects the trees of the park, applied so that the feeling of well-being was increased while people were in this decompression space.

A lot of fluidity and curved lines – which express the company’s identity – were applied throughout the project, both in architecture, joinery, metalwork and even in furniture and flooring, creating contemporary environments, bringing lightness with a certain touch of futurism. “The fluidity that we wanted to bring to the spaces is very present throughout the design of the project, always focused on the well-being of people”, points out Luciana Araújo, partner architect at Óbvio.

Although the more than 1,000 square meters are very well integrated, the architects ran into some difficulties such as the building’s robust and striking original structure. As a solution, terracotta-painted metal screens were added, as well as cladding the pillars and working the lighting element in the ceiling to hide the beams.

Although large and loud, the sound does not reverberate due to all the professional acoustic treatment, including the carpet used in the vast majority of the rooms. In some other spaces, vinyl flooring was used.

To camouflage the large pillar of the café, a vertical garden was installed along its entire length, combining functionality and aesthetics. Among the color palette we have tones that bring relaxation, stimulate creativity and provoke well-being.

Thinking about the details, the furniture also took care of the quality of work of the collaborators, with some ergonomic tables that can be adjusted for those who wish to work standing for some time.

The integrable meeting room has curtain automation and audio and video for training and presentations. The furniture is highlighted with tables that are divided among themselves, reinforcing the modular character that allows the creation of various layout configurations, transforming the meeting room into a multipurpose space.
