The distance between the object and its surrounding implies decision making regarding how to begin a dialogue amongst them. In this case, the land has semi forest like characteristics with a vast view over the Catedral mountain. Hence this duality between near and far superposed, invites the search for a focus adjustment in the look.

D House is located at the end of the read and has a slight downwards slope with views towards the surrounding mountains: Otto, Ventana and Catedral.

Understating this, the house is developed from two elements: the deck and the roof. The deck, as continuous plane between the interior and the exterior, elevates de land´s level, hence creating a relationship between the uses of the space and the immediate surroundings, with living, eating and cooking spaces. Perceiving the landscape and relating to what’s far away.

The roof´s work on the other hand, specifically in the living and dining room space focuses in elevating the side-skirts on the sides of its perimeter achieving more indoor height, allowing the eye to see farther than usual and opening the visual field 180º, trying to capture the full height and length of the mountains inside the house. We looked to create an intense experience with the landscape intervening in a direct manner on the user´s daily activities.

La distancia del objeto con su entorno implica una toma de decisión de como iniciar el dialogo entre ellos. En esta caso se da la particularidad de ser un terreno semiboscoso con una vista amplia hacia el cerro Catedral. Por lo tanto esta dualidad de lo cercano y lejano yuxtapuesto invita a buscar un ajuste de enfoque, de la mirada.

El terreno se encuentra al final de una calle y tiene una leve pendiente hacia abajo y con una vista abierta hacia los cerros circundantes Otto, Ventana y Catedral.

Entendiendo esto, la casa se desarrolla a partir de dos elementos: el deck y el techo. El deck, como un plano continuo de piso interior y exterior, busca elevar el nivel del terreno y de esa manera lograr una relación de usos y situaciones con el entorno inmediato, con lugares para estar, comer, cocinar y a su vez, percibir el paisaje y relacionarse con lo lejano. El trabajo del techo por otro lado, específicamente en el área de living comedor , se centra en levantar los faldones en tres lados de su perímetro logrando una gran altura interior que permite elevar la mirada mas allá de lo habitual y abriendo el campo visual en 180 grados, intentando de alguna manera capturar los cerros en toda su altura y extensión dentro de la casa. Se busca lograr una experiencia intensa con el paisaje interviniendo en forma directa en las situaciones cotidianas de los habitantes.
