The Paloma House holiday home is located in Eagle Bay, in Western Australia’s south west region. The home’s elongated shape set deep into the site was a direct result of strict adherence to the area’s Special Character Policy, the desire to minimize impact on the street, and also the fire set backs required in the bushland setting.

NEXTDC P2, Perth’s first Tier IV data centre, has been named Best Commercial Property in the WA Property Council Awards. The project, delivered by Hames Sharley in partnership with Urbis and City of Perth (COP), is Western Australia’s largest data centre, comprising of over 10,000m² of technical space and 10 high-density data halls.

Due to unexpected growth, ARUP required an expansion office with significant programme pressure and against a procurement environment increasingly disrupted by bushfires, the TOLL hack and COVID-19. The company took up level 8 of its existing building, a space already considered by six other potential tenants and dismissed because of its unusual layout.

This new Perth building been conceived as a ‘collection of stories’ about Western Australia’s diversity, rich history, and contemporary culture. Heritage buildings and new volumes have been connected to offer a variety of curatorial possibilities, and to create the sheltered, outdoor ‘City Room’ for public cultural programs and daily activities, including a nine-day cultural festival celebrating the opening.
