The housing units are unique in that throughout the entire project, from design, construction, and habitation, HEALTH is a driving factor.

The housing units will make use of common sense design principles, and all units should seek to minimize the transmission of Tuberculosis.

The community of St. Marc will be actively engaged in the project, helping refine the final ideas to ensure the long-term viability of the project.

The Kay e Sante nan Ayiti project believes that the way to reach the best design solution is through a collaboration of minds, skills, interests and people.

ARCHIVE hopes that the competition will raise awareness of the ability of housing to change the way in which society deals with global infectious disease epidemics, as well as generate a new-found knowledge amongst applicants of the link between housing and health.

We are asking you to contribute your ideas to this project, whatever your background, to share your knowledge and create a truly interdisciplinary network of interested individuals.
