Hofman Dujardin Architects designed a large villa set in the Dutch countryside. Villa Geldrop is no ordinary house, however. What appears at first sight to be a simple block with an angled roof turns out to be a complex composition of space and light as well as a study of the modern home’s function.
Due to site constraints, it was challenging to create a feeling of openness. Hence, the strategy was to pull Dalvey Road House apart by incorporating courtyards and gardens to allow wind to flow and provide rooms with maximum views out and access to gardens.
