5 Biggest Casinos in Australia
26 Jan 2021
On the entire planet earth, Australia stands as the sixth largest country, and because of that, a lot of things about the country are very big, and the casinos are no exception. In most of the states, the single license policy is practiced, and that entails that the states operate only one casino. The state with the highest number of casinos is Queensland, which has 3, and two out of the 3 are included in our five biggest casinos in the country list.
If driving round Australia isn’t something you planned to do or perhaps you’re thousands of miles away, you can find a top selection of online casinos at Casimple, where you can play from as little as £3 whilst still enjoying some of your favorite slots and games.
The list contains not only the biggest casinos, but the biggest and the best, and the reason why they’ve been classified among the biggest and best.
Melbourne Crown Casino
Many people describe this as the jewel in the casino life of Australia. This casino is aptly named, as it is the biggest casino complex in the whole of Australia. Furthermore, it also doubles as the largest casino establishment in the entire southern hemisphere. This lies on the Yarra River in the center of the city of Melbourne, and covers an area of 510,000 sq. m. The building of the casino was completed in 1997, and the complex has several bars, up to three luxury hotels, nightclubs and restaurants, with a selection of very impressive and high end retail outlets, including shops for brands like Hugo Boss, Louis Vuitton, Bvlgari, Prada and Harrods.

The complex is very impressive, and there is a proposal to add another tower to it, so as to add to the 1,600 room capacity. With one Queenbridge added to the tower, it will become a total of 90 storey, making it the tallest building in the country.
In terms of games, the crown delivers some of the best table games to players. Dice, wheel and card games are also on offer here too, and the casino has 2,500 licensed gaming machines, plus 3,500 poker machines.
