High-rise building in Västerås by C. F. Møller Architects
The winning C.F. Møller and C.F. Møller Landscape Project is a 22-storey high-rise building including a panoramic garden on the 15th Floor.
The 22-storey high-rise building marks a new significant silhouette in Västerås skyline and a characteristic landmark for the entire district of Lilludden. The three-dimensional facades and a green panoramic garden on the 15th floor overlooking the city and Lake Mälaren characterize the architecture. C.F. Møller’s design also proposes that the structure is carried out as a hybrid of solid wood and concrete.

Landscape Institute Award 2013

National Maritime Museum
The extension of the National Maritime Museum in London, inaugurated in July 2011 by HRH Prince Philip, creates a new main entrance towards Greenwich Park. Most of the new building is located underground. The roof of the new wing is a green, public landscaped terrace overlooking the Park, accessed at all levels by gentle ramps, causing the building to blend with the park landscape.
Churchman Landscape Architects designed the landscape, developing the concept in close cooperation with C.F. Møller during the design of the new wing.
The judges commented:
“The design solution was elegant, subtly linking the building, the route and the landscape to include a series of opportunities to rest and play, such as a delightful water feature.”
The extension of the museum, which is part of the Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site, has received several commendations and was given a 2012 RIBA Award.

New Name – ‘C.F. Møller’ + New Website
23 Jan 2013 – C.F. Møller has acquired a new name and a new website, as a natural consequence of our branding strategy in an international context.
Increased focus on C.F. Møller’s strategic areas will pave the way for business development and contribute to growth towards 2015. As part of C.F. Møller’s 2015 Strategy, the company’s services – architecture, design, landscape, healthcare and management – are to be strengthened and thereby clarified, both in Denmark and internationally.
As a natural consequence of the work of branding our services, we have implemented a simplification and improvement of the way in which C.F. Møller presents itself.
Simplified company name
We have changed our name from C.F. Møller Architects to the simpler and more internationally-oriented C.F. Møller. The name C.F. Møller draws strength from the practice’s long history and tradition, and from our Scandinavian roots – values upon which we wish to continue to build.
We have also implemented a new visual identity, logo and website.
Five strategic focus areas
The biggest change at the new www.cfmoller.com is that we have grouped our services into five strategic focus areas, each with its own section on the site, namely: Architecture, Design, Landscape, Healthcare and Management. Each service collects and highlights our knowledge and references in the specific area.
“We would like to show our customers and partners our core competencies in an easily accessible manner. We are well known, also internationally, for our architecture and for our hospital and laboratory competencies. But we are also strong in landscape and design, and we have some unique skills in the management area,” says Susanne T. Nielsen, Group CEO.
Management services
C.F. Møller Management provides advice on user consultation, change management, space planning, logistics, client consultancy and organisational development, and acts as the client’s closest strategic partner in construction processes. We are now highlighting this on the new website.
Our special approach to management services is that we can combine our advice with the architectural design process.

New life for Denmark’s oldest school, Copenhagen, Denmark
Denmark’s oldest school, the listed Sølvgade School built in 1847, close to King Christian IV’s famous historic naval barracks, Nyboder, in Copenhagen, has for many years been lacking space and modern facilities. C.F. Møller Architects has carefully renovated the school and done a striking extension which in its form and colors is true to the surroundings, but also adds a modernistic twist to the school.
