La Boyita, Uruguay
La Boyita is a residential complex measuring 1 000 square meters and divided into five modules: the main body for communal areas, another for the service area, and three additional modules for potential guests so they can feel in close contact with nature.
The independent volumes are articulated around a large outdoor area with a swimming pool in the centre where it is protected from the wind. The other galleries envelope the independent areas in an outdoor living space that forges a fluid transition between indoors and outdoors.
The main body is placed between La Boyita coast and the swimming pool, but since it is wholly transparent it allows for visual permeability between both areas. The heavy, opaque masonry elements are set aside for pieces built high enough that they do not hinder interaction with the landscape.
All the materials are local: stone, wood, iron and slate merge into their immediate environment.
