Design: TateHindle. Increased office space and decreased energy usage at refurbished building in London’s New Oxford Street. Despite a whole extra floor of space in the refurbished office building at 70 New Oxford Street in the Bloomsbury Conservation Area of London, energy usage has fallen by 40 per cent.

This new hub provides a space for all the town’s cultural events. Stripped of any pretentiousness, the building defines itself as a metal-clad cultural hall. With its hangar-like appearance, the architecture withdraws, handing the space over to the cultural events taking place.

Design: Grid Architects and Maccreanor Lavington. Wandsworth Council has approved plans to replace the Christies Fine Arts Warehouse in Nine Elms with a mixed use development including 510 homes and new cultural space.
ACME’s Minories proposal in London EC3 has been granted planning permission by the City of London Planning Committee. The development includes a 20,000 sqm office building, a 16,500 sqm Hilton Hotel with 370 rooms, and an 8,000 sqm residential building.
Design: Architects of Invention. The total site area is approximately 0.5 hectares. The building consists of two connected volumes – a 14-storey office building of rectangular form and a 7-storey hotel.
Design: TateHindle. New Fetter Place, the redevelopment adjacent to Holborn Circus, has been completed. It comprises a newly regenerated 12-storey octagonal shaped tower at 8-10 New Fetter Lane and a newly constructed six-storey link building at 55 Fetter Lane.
The design for the 135,000 sqft redevelopment included extensions to the octagonal shaped tower, a new façade, remodelled service core and new mechanical & electrical services to provide an additional 40% of Class A office accommodation.

3XN’s design team was invited for the event which unveiled the 77.000 m2 project inspired by the Indian nature and Mumbai’s mangroves. Just as clusters of mangrove stalks seemingly braid together at the base, the two towers in this mixed use development converge at the lower retail floors, rising up to provide amenity spaces on the podium; and grow into the sky as a cluster of slender trees providing some of Mumbai’s most thoughtfully laid out residential accommodation.
schmidt hammer lassen architects completed design for new cultural home for the city Labour Union in Ningbo, China. The 100,000 sqm project, known as the Home of Staff, was won by the architects in an international competition. With an eclectic mix of functions, split across two separate buildings, the project is linked by a landscape park stretching over half a kilometre.
Design: Benoy. DreamCenter has been released as the leading element of the ‘West Bund Media Port’ project; one of the largest cultural investment projects currently undertaken in China. Located along the Huangpu River in Shanghai’s Xuhui District, the integrated development is the result of a dynamic collaboration between Lan Kwai Fong Group, DreamWorks Animation and CMC Capital Partners.
MVRDV win 58ha Serp & Molot factory transformation in Moscow. Built in 1884, the Serp & Molot steel factory in Moscow was a stronghold during the Russian revolution.In the past decades it fell into disrepair – unused and overgrown with plants.

Berkeley Homes has submitted plans to Tower Hamlets Council for the redevelopment of the existing South Quay Plaza site to provide a world-class, residential-led mixed-use development.
