As 2015 draws to a close BVN has over 6,000 apartments being designed in their studios
They include Sydney’s tallest apartment building the Greenland Centre in Pitt Street, Sydney and the redevelopment of the Brisbane Racing Club with Mirvac.
The Reserve, Bourke St, Zetland
According to Mr Phllip Rossington, Principal, BVN, “When designing apartments it is increasingly important to focus on the public and shared spaces created through and around the development.”
He cited the recently announced “The Reserve” in Bourke Street, Zetland as an example of an apartment development that includes a new public park and a green path through the site that links a series of green spaces through Zetland.
“Whilst it is important that every apartment has good living spaces, it is equally important that there is a good balance between private garden and public spaces,” said Mr Rossington.
Again referring to “The Reserve” he pointed out that there are large internal courtyards on the ground level as well as three communal roof terraces that can be used by all residents to enjoy the elevated views across the neighbourhood whilst relaxing with friends and family.
“What is imperative in these large new apartment developments is the need to design places that include spaces that people can not only enjoy being in but can also take pleasure in looking at, as opposed to the development being just another apartment block crowding out the street,” according to Mr Rossington.

South Coast NSW Property
A robust yet finely articulated home arranged as a collection of positive and negative spaces, opens up completely to its immediate landscape, or shuts down as the coastal weather turns. A simple planning arrangement provides a large home with an efficient program, and light and ventilation apertures follow the linear functionality of the home.
