Dwana Smallwood Performing Arts Center Brooklyn
Design: Jordan Parnass Digital Architecture. Located in a former industrial building, JPDA developed a series of dramatic architectural interventions that transform the exterior and create bright, airy and playful dance studios, offices, a library, and dressing rooms for the bustling families that arrive each day.
The Shed Arts Center Manhattan, New York
Design: Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Architects. An unorthodox new building for the Rockwell Group, inspired by Cedric Price’s Fun Palace. The project received a $75m gift from Michael Bloomberg. The six storey 18,500 sqm cultural centre will be encased in a 34m-high outer shell that can slide on rails to double the ground space.
XXX Times Square with Love in New York
Design: J.MAYER.H und Partner, Architekten. Originally inspired by the “X”-like intersection of Broadway and 7th Avenue that forms Times Square, the loungers are the first specially-commissioned ongoing street furniture for the new Times Square plazas.
New York Public Library Stapleton Branch
Design: Andrew Berman Architect. The new library was intended above all to be an inviting, open, and accessible public space for the community. The library had to be on a single level, stitch new building to old, and be handicapped accessible.

Bathing House in Stone Ridge, Catskills, NY
Design: Leven Betts Studio, Architects. A bathing house located in Catskills, NY. The residence is designed around the experiences of bathing and fire. Bathing occurs along one side of the building in the forms of a sunken Japanese Riokan, a wood soaking tub, a steam room and shower.
Hudson Yards Development Manhattan
Construction on Thomas Heatherwick’s landmark starts at Hudson Yards. The 150-foot-tall polished steel pavilion comprises 154 interconnecting flights of stairs. Hudson Yards is the largest private real estate development in the history of the US.

Design: Renzo Piano Building Workshop, Architects. American Architecture Awards winner: at 200,000 sqft, the new building is nearly double the size of its former home on the Upper East Side, which could not fully show its 22,000-strong art collection.
