Major works to visit include the Jewish Museum by New York’s Studio Daniel Libeskind, Axel Springer Building designed by Rotterdam’s OMA, and finally the Cube at Washington Platz by 3XN Architects, Denmark.
Significant recent structures to note are Griebnitzsee Apartments in the Wannsee district, Berlin Steglitz-Zehlendorf. This three-storey residential building with underground parking is situated on the shores of the lake Griebnitzsee. New image of building design for Axel Springer’s new media centre in Berlin. The building will embody Axel Springer’s corporate shift from print to digital media, and will create a new hub. OMA was one of three architecture studios shortlisted in this architectural competition.
Design: brandt + simon architekten. The atypical facade of green tiles makes this house an outstanding element of the urban fabric. At the same time as being unusual the busy passerby will not necessarily notice the greenish structure blending with the vegetation in the space between the neighboring buildings.

The new Zalando Headquarters groups two new buildings in the corporate campus in Berlin-Friedrichshain. The seven-storey buildings provide 42,000 sqm of office space for the largest European online supplier of shoes and fashion goods.

This new German healthcare building presents itself in the center of the New Berlin – the Science Center Medical Technology at Potsdamer Platz. The new building is the representative office in the capital city for the medical technology company Otto Bock HealthCare GmbH, which is based in Duderstadt.

Berlin’s tallest residential tower design submitted to city planners: 150m-high skyscraper would be second only in height to the city’s 368m tall TV tower, Fernsehturm Berlin.

The topping-out of the James Simon Galerie on Berlin’s Museum Island, designed by David Chipperfield Architects, was celebrated on 13 April 2016.
Tempelhof Airport Tower Design Competition. Architecture contest for a £4.3m overhaul of Tempelhof Airport’s former air traffic control tower. The former airport closed in 2008 and became a 400-hectare public park, and has been used as an emergency refugee camp since September last year.
Design: Peter Ruge Architekten. House M is a detached town house in the middle of Berlin for an academic Japanese-German family. The rec-tangular site stretches 15 m along the road in the west and extends 40 m to the east.
Design: OMA, architects – Rem Koolhaas. KaDeWe, Continental Europe’s largest department store, is to be renewed: the mass is broken into four quadrants, with a glass rooftop extension and new sculptural staircases.

COBE Berlin has received first prize in an international architecture competition to design Berlin’s Urbane Mitte am Gleisdreieck, a master plan located at the gateway to GleisdreieckPark in Berlin.

Design: David Chipperfield Architects. Proposal to refurbish a 19th-century brewery in Berlin, adding new buildings to house a gallery, restaurants and a medical innovation centre.
Design: nps tchoban voss. The two new hotels, IBIS and AMANO were recently completed around the Berlin´s Hauptbahnhof. With its location, Europaplatz to the east and the square of the Berlin´s main train station to the north, these two buildings are perfectly connected to the public transportation system.

Design: Baukind. Since April 2014, 30 children, ages 1-6 years, play, run around, explore, and cuddle in the 180 square meters large Kita Zauberzwerge (nursery“Magic Dwarves”), which is located in Berlin Steglitz.
Design: nps tchoban voss. The area along the river Spree has from the historical point of view not much in common with the open and classic promenades one sees in Paris or Rome. Although in the heart of Berlin, this shore area belonged to the least desirable parts of the city.
