This building is a 25-storey residential tower in SoHo.
The architects state, “Located along the western edge of Soho between Broome and Watts Street in New York City, Soho Tower extends the pedestrian neighborhood with new street level commercial spaces on a once vacant site.
The 25 story residential towers above will have expansive views from the city to the Hudson River through an articulated and curved glass façade. The fragmented building massing, detail and materiality reinforce the human scale of this project within the scale of the city.”
The developers for this skyscraper are a partnership between SHVO, Halpern Real Estate Ventures, Itzhaki Acquisition and Bizzi & Partners Development.
In May 2015 it was revealed that Renzo Piano would be following up his new Whitney Museum with a 290-foot residential tower at 555 Broome Steet (previously pinned as 100 Varick Street) in Hudson Square right on the border of Soho.
The project is one of many residential structures rising in the up-and-coming corridor that many have dubbed “West Soho.”
The building is due to include 242,350 square feet of residential space over 115 apartments, with 8 to 10 units on floors 3 to 10, 4 duplexes with private terraces on floors 11 and 12, and 2 to 4 apartments per floor the rest of the way up.
Comps include fitness facilities, extra storage, indoor and outdoor amenity spaces, a swimming pool, a porte cochere and robot parking.
The height of this skyscraper building is expected to be under 100 metres. Local height restrictions tprevent new buildings from surpassing the 138-m-high Trump Soho.
