The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies have awarded over 130 new buildings, commercial and institutional developments, landscape architecture, and urban planning projects from 43 nations for The International Architecture Awards for 2016.

Construction has started on a new headquarters for Chinese fashion group Xinhee in the coastal Chinese city Xiamen. The building design is metaphorical: six petals represent the six brands fan out around an atrium.

Design: Murat Gedik. The roof of the building is completely covered with a solar panel that produces the energy needed for total energy consumption by the household. Thanks to the roof style, the rain and snow water can be accumulated to be utilized later.
Design: Payam Fahemi & Samira Kharazan Nahavandi. The “two most significant properties, Bifunctionality and to be temporary”, allows the Sunshade-deck canopy to be used everywhere and any time during the year.
