Strong Water Tanks For Your Property

Having your own supply of reliable water is a good means to keep your family safe and sound in case something happens to the local water supply. A lot of people sleep on the idea of getting a water storage tank but it’s definitely something that’s worth the time and investment you put into it.

Also referred to as cisterns, water storage tanks are containers that safely store water. The water is used for various purposes and it can be used by both commercial and non-commercial establishments. One of the benefits of having your own water storage tank is that you no longer have to fully rely on the local water supply.

Another benefit is that these tanks can actually help you save money. As you are able to store water more efficiently, you can reduce your consumption significantly as well.

If you’re interested in getting your own water storage tank, then you’ve come to the right place. There are many types of tanks that you can get for your home. Of course, some of them are better and more durable than others and that’s what we are here to highlight today.

Stainless Steel Water Tanks

If we are talking about the most common water tanks, then you are probably referring to stainless steel water tanks. Chances are that you’ve probably seen one of these before as they are used in various applications. While commercial properties can use them, most homes actually get these as well.

Aside from storing water, stainless steel water tanks can also store other liquids. For example, they store wine for breweries, dairy for chocolate industries, just to name a few. Stainless steel is a good material overall because it’s durable and non-corrosive as well.

Due to the composition of the materials, stainless steel water tanks can also store drinkable water. The demand for stainless steel tanks is always at a high because of the affordability and durability of the water tank. If you want a starter storage tank for your home, then this is one of the better options out there.

Pillow Tanks

If you are always on the go and you want a safe way to store water, then you might want to get what’s called a pillow tank. Simply put, these are versatile tanks that you can bring with you wherever you go because of their compact size and portability. Don’t let the name fool you, pillow tanks are still durable.

Pillow tanks can be used when you are out traveling. They can safely store wastewater and potable water as well. Pillow tanks can range from 500 to 20,000 gallons and of course, the larger versions aren’t as portable as the smaller ones.

Underground Fiberglass Tank

This type of water tank is more common in commercial industries because they are highly versatile. As the name suggests, these are made out of fiberglass – a non-corrosive material that has its upsides as compared to water tanks made out of metal or other corrosive materials.

One of the benefits of this tank is that it is underground. Some water storage tanks are placed above ground so you need to allow space for them. By placing it underground, the fiberglass tank not only avoids taking up space, but it can also avoid making your place look less pleasing as well.

Another upside to being placed underground is that the tank is less exposed to the outside elements. This is a common problem for above-ground tanks and people often resort to building sheds for these types of tanks.

There are also above-ground fiberglass tanks. While durable, fiberglass is susceptible to scratches, and eventually, leaks. As such, it’s often the better choice to go for the underground variant as it offers lesser risks. Do keep in mind however that the installation of underground tanks is usually more expensive.

Polyethylene Tanks

If you want to get a tank but you are on a budget, then you might want to consider polyethylene tanks. These are tanks made out of a type of plastic. They are easily the cheapest tanks on the market currently but they are known for many other things as well.

Polyethylene tanks are also generally smaller as compared to other water tanks. This means it’s a lot easier to have these installed or to have these carried as well. It’s a viable option for a residential water tank especially if you aren’t looking to put the tank through heavy duty work.

Bolted Steel Tanks

Bolted steel tanks are usually reserved for factories and commercial properties. This is because this is the largest type of tank available. It can hold millions of gallons of water. With its sheer size comes a huge price and unbeatable durability as well.

Obviously, this isn’t the type of water tank that you’d want to have installed in your home. However, if you have a commercial property that consumes copious amounts of water on a daily basis, then bolted steel tanks are the best tanks for you. It’s a solid investment plan considering how long these things last.

The installation of such water tanks are more intensive as well and it takes a lot of planning to have these set up.

Foldable Tanks

Another form of portable water tanks are foldable tanks. As the name suggests, these are water tanks that you can assemble and disassemble quickly through folding. It’s used in areas where water is hard to come by. It’s also a cheap water tank that’s the perfect fit for rural areas.

The downside to foldable water tanks is that they are smaller as compared to other water tanks. However, if you are going to use it primarily for residential purposes, then it’s more than enough to keep your water supply good and running at all times.

Water tanks aren’t a necessity for most residential and commercial establishments but they are something that you should consider investing in regardless. The benefits of getting your own water tank are many. Although the initial investment is heavy most of the time, you’ll feel the returns of the tank along the road soon.
