Proctor and Matthews Architects’ Heritage Centre at the heart of the major Northstowe development has been granted planning permission by Cambridgeshire County Council. The contemporary exhibition space will showcase artefacts discovered during the major archaeological excavation for Northstowe, and the simultaneous A14 upgrade by National Highways.

This architecture practice was founded in London in 1988.

Proctor Matthews Architects are a vibrant, nurturing and interactive studio that constantly encourages each of the staff members to explore and test new ideas. The practice have a dynamic and talented team of international staff who are passionate about improving their built environment.

The firm support staff in their professional development by organising internal design workshops, in-house presentations and attending external talks. The practice thrives on creating a warm, friendly and informal working environment nurtured through social events arranged throughout the year.

The Proctor Matthews Architects studio is set within a post war building in leafy Bermondsey. The space is purpose designed to support a creative working environment as well as host formal and informal meetings and small exhibitions.

London Architects Practices

Stephen Proctor studied at the University of Sheffield. He has lectured and taught extensively in schools of architecture in both the UK and abroad, has been a Design Tutor and Senior Lecturer at the Universities of Sheffield and Brighton, and was External Examiner to the Universities of Sheffield and Kent. He is currently a Visiting Professor at the University of Sheffield.

Andrew Matthews studied at the Universities of Cambridge and Sheffield. He has lectured and taught extensively in schools of architecture in both the UK and abroad; and has been a Design Tutor and Senior Lecturer at the Universities of Sheffield and Brighton. In the past, Andrew was also appointed as an External Examiner to Sheffield and Greenwich Universities as well as the University of the Creative Arts in Canterbury. Currently, Andrew serves as a Visiting Professor at the University of Sheffield.
