Pittodrie Street Student Housing
Planning permission has been granted for 618 student bedspaces, designed by Manson, the scheme is situated on Pittodrie Street, Aberdeen and is split across two separate sites. Our client, Watkin Jones Group aims to have both aspects of the permission occupied by 2019 in a phased approach to construction.

The buildings have incorporated traditional aspects of the surrounding residential area, such as the high-level dormers and the use of granite as a building material.

MANSON ARCHITECTS REVEALED

Manson Architects, formerly known as Ian Burke Associates, has launched its new company branding coinciding with St Andrews Day. The Edinburgh and Dundee based leading commercial architects will enter 2010 with the vision of advancing the company and delivering quality design solutions.

Manson Architects, established in 1969 as Ian Burke Associates, is now one of the leading commercial architects in the UK, with its work for Tesco Stores and Dobbies Garden Centres well known country-wide. The new branding has been established to ensure that the business will continue to be recognised for the quality of work it delivers, alongside continuing to build a reputation synonymous with the skills and experience of the company.

Lindsay Manson, Managing Director, commented: “Our decision to rebrand to the architecture practice reflects the need in the current economic climate to remain innovative, deliver maximum impact and continue to provide inspiring design solutions.”

“We have recently been appointed by Tesco to design large scale urban regeneration projects in Linwood and Hebburn, and I see projects like these, alongside sustainable place making, as integral to developing places where we want to live and work in the near future.”

This architects practice have also recently been commissioned to complete 600 bed spaces within the Collegelands Masterplan in the east end of Glasgow and they have been shortlisted for University projects in Dublin and Belfast. By working alongside the country’s leading retailers, education institutions and leisure providers, the architects office are consistently providing efficient design solutions, whilst ensuring their developments are effective and inspirational.
