The Vaucluse alfresco area is a seamless extension of a Peter Stutchbury–designed residence, conceived to balance luxury with everyday functionality. Set against the backdrop of Sydney Harbour and the city skyline, the space was designed to feel equally intimate for one person enjoying a morning coffee as it does for entertaining dozens of guests at sunset.

Careful zoning defines the layout: an island-style outdoor kitchen at the heart of the space creates a social hub, supported by an elegant dining zone for 10, a lounge and seating area, and a resort-like pool. A fully serviced amenities block with showers and toilets ensures the space functions effortlessly during large gatherings.

Materiality was central to the design. Laminam porcelain was used across walls, benchtops, and joinery for its refined look and robust performance, complemented by a custom slatted timber servery that echoes the architectural details of the home. Every detail, from tinted grey glass storage to concealed appliances, reflects a commitment to both beauty and practicality.

Ultimately, this alfresco retreat is not just a place to gather, but a crafted lifestyle experience—one that connects architecture, landscape, and daily rituals in perfect harmony.
