Pure Geometry and Materiality as Language
Interior designer María José Auñón Cabrera and architect Pasqual Giner unveil, Calpe House, a new single-family home in Calpe, a coastal town on Spain’s Mediterranean Costa Blanca, that embodies architectural clarity and sensorial depth.
Defined by clean lines, noble materials, and natural light, the residence is a refined expression of form and atmosphere; an invitation to experience architecture that is both precise and deeply human.
This detached home stands as a true architectural statement, where geometry and materiality are in perfect conversation. The design unfolds through a deliberate composition of well-defined volumes that celebrate the purity of form and the tactile richness of carefully chosen materials. It strikes a delicate balance between structural strength and the subtle play of light.
Every architectural element has been conceived to enhance the spatial experience. Interplays of solid and void invite the landscape in, while natural light becomes a material in its own right—moving across surfaces and accentuating the textures of stone, wood, and ceramics. Strategically arranged volumes allow for seamless transitions between interior and exterior spaces, nurturing an organic connection with the surrounding environment.
Material selection plays a key role in the home’s identity, combining rough and smooth, matte and reflective finishes to add depth and warmth. The project explores architecture as a language, where each line, each shadow, and each material tells a story of balance, precision, and timelessness.
