Altrincham Transport Interchange

A team of designers and stakeholders led by AHR has completed a £19 million multi-model interchange in Altrincham commissioned by Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM). AHR has worked to redesign the station in order for TfGM to better integrate the various modes of transport – bus, taxi, rail, tram and cycling.

Science Park Hub in Manchester

Contact Manchester Arts Venue

The Dockyard Bar, Salford Quay Side, Manchester

Design: Lomax Interiors. The Dockyard is a stylish new bar nestled by Manchester’s popular Salford Quay Side. With Media City bringing more people to the area, the bar meets the demand for a late night licensed bar in a location currently dominated by coffee shops.

Oliver Sweeney Store, Manchester Retail Space

Design: Urban Salon. This store building is located in Spinningfields, central Manchester, off the main high end retail street, Deansgate. The ground floor debuts a new store design for the luxury shoe brand, which is being rolled out across its store portfolio.

The glazed façade is mullion-free in order to achieve views deep into the store interior. The façade is the first of its kind. Horizontal steel rods act as wind bracing between the glazing and the building superstructure.

Allied London Spinningfields Office

Design: Cartwright Pickard. The application, for the last empty plot at the prestigious Spinningfields development in Manchester, was passed unanimously. Work is due to start on the construction of the building in late spring 2014. The 22,600 sqm ‘Cotton Building’ is specifically aimed at the fast expanding TMT (technology, media and telecommunications) sector.

Darwen Vale High School Blackburn

This reconfigured school in Blackburn offers 1,200 pupils a flexible, IT-rich environment, designed to transform teaching and learning. A new three-storey 8,000m² structure is located behind the original school building.
