Design: Zaha Hadid Architects. The first part of this initiative was the development of Line ‘A’ that ran east to west across Strasbourg. A parallel initiative to the design of the transport system was the inclusion of a number of artists, such as Barbara Kruger and Mario Mertz, to make specific installations at key points of the line.

La Queue du Lezard, Mixed-used Leisure Complex

At the core of the urban renewal project for the Mireuil district of La Rochelle, “La Queue du Lézard” (“The Lizard’s Tail”) is a complex of local community amenities which is part of a plan proposed by ANRU (the French National Agency for Urban Renewal) developed together with landscape designers from the In Situ firm. A community centre, city sports grounds and a games library are grouped together in a 200 m long narrow strip made up of alternating built elements and voids.

Mixed-use leisure building, containing a 1,000 sqm casino, a restaurant, a 100-seat conference room, bowling, bar, brewery, night club, several multimedia rooms, offices and workshops, parking for 250 cars.
Composed of six blocks containing the different entities of the program and arranged mainly on a single level, this new complex offers a clear and simple internal route through the large glass-roofs taken between these six volumes.

Ardeko won pre-certification “LEED-Platinum”

The internationally active architectural firm be baumschlager eberle, the client Hines and the investor Ivanhoé Cambridge are pleased to receive the pre-certification “LEED Platinum” for the recently opened office building “Ardeko” in Boulogne-Billancourt (F). Tested according to the standards of the U.S. Green Building Council, Ardeko gained the highest rating level. Location, concept, water consumption, energy consumption, protection of the atmosphere, use of building materials and interior design were all evaluated.

Les Haras Strasbourg Hotel and Brasserie, France

Design: Agence Jouin Manku, Architectes. This project comprises a four star hotel and the Michelin 3-starred chef Marc Haeberlin’s first brasserie. Les Haras allies architectural creativity and technological innovation, two particular areas of French expertise, with philanthropy, an unprecedented mix for a historic redevelopment project in France.

Design: Tectoniques Architectes. A new building on the site of the former Drocourt Coking Plant Building, northern France. After a call for ideas addressed to the local residents, the Maison de l’Environnement et du Développement Durable (Centre for the Environment & Sustainable Development) of the Hénin-Carvin Joint Urban Authority adopted the name Aquaterra.
