Design: Lemay + Toker
The bank’s public-facing areas are defined by custom glass display cabinets, with specialized lighting, for a rotating gallery of quarterly contributions from the Alberta College of Art and Design.
Design: YH2. Initially built as a small storage space by the first owner who was a lumberman, this was later rearranged into a forest refuge. The materials and structure of the building are kept and uninterrupted so that the addition acts as an extension rather than an insertion.
Design: STGM Architects + CCM2 Architects. Located in the borough of Pintendre on the outskirts of Lévis, the new 1,500 sqm fire station houses eight fire trucks.

The abundant brightness of this contemporary-inspired home creates an effect of infinite grandeur and space. Located at the foot of a majestic fall and bordered by the river Jean-Venne, the residence breathes well-being and offers a unique concept of relaxation.
The redesign of St Patrick’s Island is the centerpiece of an ambitious redevelopment strategy for Calgary’s East Village. Charged with transforming a neglected urban island into an engaging park, we drew on the ecological history of the island for inspiration to increase its biodiversity and create a “living island.”

An innovative Canadian first for a heritage preservation project of its size, the new glass envelope that will protect the Grand Théâtre de Québec is a Lemay and Atelier 21 consortium design and the winning solution in the cultural complex’s architectural competition.
Architects: Clairoux. Northern white cedar—a local tree species—was the basis for the colouration and choice of materials. With time, this wood develops a silvery hue on the outside while retaining its blond colouring inside.

The destination facility will offer a unique experience for recreation and competitive swimmers alike. The team looks forward to seeing it come to life in the coming years.
Design: Bourgeois / Lechasseur architectes. The house was inspired by a formal exploration of sand models, seen at a Wallpaper Magazine exhibition. The volume is inspired by local traditional architecture and the natural shapes of wind-swept dunes.

MoDA was approached in early 2015 to reimagine an existing commercial building on Main Street in the historic mining town of Canmore, Alberta into a mixed-use development of retail, office, residential and warehouse.
