BG49 Apartments is a housing project on a narrow and elongated site on one of Central Tel Aviv’s most prominent Boulevards.
The project consists of the addition of 2 new floors, 3 new apartments, and a complete redesign and structural makeover of a dilapidated 3 storey 1960’s building which existed on the site.
As part of Israel’s urban renewal plan , the facade composition was designed to enhance the site’s heritage, with new balconies and proportions, while adding and renewing qualitative housing within this dense and in demand central location.
The location of the stairs and openings to the apartments were a given, and the main challenge was to inject a new life into an outdated existing design.
