The Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture (ESALA) combines the sense of enquiry and experimentation of Edinburgh College of Art with the rigour and international profile of the University of Edinburgh.

As part of the University of Edinburgh, we put academic research and design enquiry at the heart of our activities to ensure that our learning and teaching is constantly informed by new ideas and enquiry. We are outward looking and collaborate with institutions on an international stage.

We also have close local collaborations with the School of Built Environment at Heriot-Watt University that capitalise on their complementary expertise. ESALA has secured an Athena SWAN bronze award for our continuing activities in improving our culture of equality and diversity.
