A city that will never be like before, but that raises several questions:
Is this global disaster an opportunity to collectively rethink the role of heritage in today’s culture? Are these great monuments, a system of immunity of cities against a culture of waste and immediate obsolescence? What is the dialogue that can be established between the past and contemporary architectures?

THEME
Rethinking Notre-Dame seeks to rethink the ways of intervening to establish a dialogue between the spaces of the past and the ways of life of the present. The contest seeks to reactivate Notre Dame, articulating its heritage and cultural values with contemporary habitability. For this, there is no single vision like rehabilitating Notre Dame. That is why three categories are proposed in which the forms of intervention, CONSERVATION, SUSTAINABILITY and INSTALLATION can be used.

PRIZES – 3.500 Euros

A special recognition will be made for the 48 best proposals, awarding a prize of a total of € 3500 distributed as follows:

First Prize – 1.000€

Three Accesits (1 by category) – 3 x 500 €
+ 9 Gold Mention (3 by category) – 9 x 100 €
+ 30 Honourable Mention (10 by category) – No economic Prize

Special Award reTH!NKING – 100 € + registration next contest (50 €)

Bajo la noche de París del 15 de abril, las televisiónes, las redes sociales, es decir, todo el planeta observaba el arder de la catedral de Notre- Dame. Lágrimas, horror y conmoción ante la posibilidad de ver reducido a cenizas el monumento más visitado del mundo, pero tras una larga noche, la ciudad conservó Notre-Dame.

Una ciudad que nunca volverá a ser como antes, pero que nos plantea varias preguntas:
¿Es este desastre global una oportunidad para repensar de forma colectiva el papel del patrimonio en la cultura actual? ¿Son estos grandes monumentos un sistema de inmunidad de las ciudades frente a una cultura del derroche y de la obsolescencia inmediata? ¿Cuál es el dialogo que se puede establecer entre las arquitecturas del pasado y la arquitectura contemporánea?

TEMA DEL CONCURSO
Rethinking Notre-Dame busca repensar las formas de intervenir para establecer un dialogo entre los espacios del pasado y los modos de vida del presente. El concurso busca reactivar Notre Dame, articulando sus valores patrimoniales y culturales con la habitabilidad contemporánea. Para ello, no busca una visión única de como rehabilitar Notre Dame. Por eso, se proponen tres categorías desde donde pensar la intervención utilizar differentes formas de intervención: CONSERVACIÓN, SOSTENIBILIDAD e INSTALACIÓN.

PREMIOS – 3500 Euros
Se hará un reconocimiento especial para las 48 mejores propuestas, otorgándose un premio de un total de 3500 € repartido de la siguiente manera:

Primer premio – 1.000 €

+ 9 Menciones de oro (3 por categoría) – 9 x 100 €
+ 30 Menciones de Honor (10 por categoría) – Sin dotación económica
