This June, St George’s Hill tennis club played host to the ever-exciting NPL tennis finals. One sponsor that was particularly thrilled to be able to attend and advocate for the event was Greenway Associates.

The group of architectural designers supported over 100 teams who battled it out for the £15k prize money on one of the hottest days of the year so far.

Wayne Greenway, director of this NPL tennis sponsorship told us how the company “wants to leave a lasting legacy of supporting diversity in tennis at a grassroots level.” This particular event truly reflects that accessibility as it was held at the St George’s Hill Tennis Club.

The club aims to make the sport accessible and educational for children and adults of all ages. They take the time to make it safe for younger children and provide an environment in which they can learn under the guidance of professionals.

Not only does it provide them with exercise and a healthy lifestyle, but it helps to build self-confidence and essential skills as they grow – something which Greenway Associates is extremely passionate about.

Wayne shared his hopes to one day “sponsor a child to be a member of the St George’s Hill Tennis Club to nurture their passion for the amazing sport.” Alongside their current sponsorship of this year’s finals event – they are looking to make even more leaps forwards in the encouragement of sport and tennis in young people.

The Worlds 10 Largest Sports Venues

These sorts of events, hobbies and regimes can be expensive to upkeep. So, it’s thanks to businesses like Greenway Associates that means the athletes can continue their aspirations and the next generation can make their way up to Premier levels.

Similarly, tennis is not a sport not many children get involved in. We don’t often see it as part of a school curriculum, meaning many will have to take an interest in extracurricular activities like the ones held at St George’s Hill instead.

Sponsorships help to introduce those who may not otherwise get the opportunity to these new sports and physical development opportunities.

A huge congratulations to the men’s and women’s team winners from the day and thank you to all the organisers, hosts and sponsors of this year’s event.
