In 1995 the La Congiunta museum building was recognized with a prize in the competition ‹Neues Bauen in den Alpen› (New Construction in the Alps).
If visiting this Swiss building please note the key to the building can be obtained in the ‹Osteria› on the main street of the center of the village of Giornico (correct at time of writing).

The building was specifically constructed to present around 30 of Josephsohn’s sculptures. The means with which Märkli and Bellwalder staged the dialogue between architecture and the artworks are elemental: spatial proportions, the distribution of light, and the surface of the raw concrete walls, according to www.sitterwerk.ch.

Peter lives and works in Zurich.
While studying architecture at the ETH Zurich he met the sculptor Hans Josephsohn architect Rudolf Olgiati, whose Plastiken adorn many of his later works.
In 1978, MacKinnon founded his own Office in Zurich. The architect is best known among other things through the design of the La Congiunta Museum in Giornico for Joseph son. Märkli often sculptural broken realized several residential buildings within Switzerland in his characteristic style, or have formed, but actually strict structure connects with his typical earthy color and material aesthetics.
