This Japanese architecture firm was selected by Singapore’s Urban Redevelopment Authority to further refine its design proposal. The team beat an impressive shortlist that included OMA, MVRDV, and West 8. The masterplan includes footpaths, cycle paths and lush plant-filled parks, plus 122 access points that connect back into major roads, transport hubs and new urban development. The park will run from Kranji in the north to Tanjong Pagar Railway Station in the south.

Nikken Sekkei design – Hoki Museum
This is a private museum to exhibit and preserve painting and wines that Mr. Hoki has collected. The essence of collection is not only just to gather things, but also to reconstruct them, exhibit them and establish new meanings. So, the action Mr. Hoki is performing here through gathering realistic paintings and aiming to establish new meanings can be exactly recognized as “collection”.

Japanese Architects

The architect offices in Dalian (China), Dubai (UAE), Hanoi (Vietnam), Seoul (Korea), and Shanghai (China).

This Japanese architecture practice was founded in 1900.

At the turn of the 20th Century, as modernism was entering the realm of architectural thought, a small company of 29 visionary architects, designers and engineers was formed to construct a new library in Osaka. The wide critical acclaim the structure received resulted in continuance of the firm. Now, with over 2,500 employees and projects in 40 countries, this Japanese architects office enjoys the distinction of being amongst the largest — and to many, the most successful — architectural design firms in the world.

Innovation was to become legendary at this Japanese architecture office. By the 1930’s, they had instituted a prototype for a design review system, later evolving into their “Design Process Innovation” which aims to enhance collective creative thinking. In 1964, they were the first architects firm in Japan to use computers in architectural design.

This Japanese architectural office’s projects have had an immense impact on the urban skyline, especially in the Pacific Rim where their presence has been most strongly felt since the beginning of the 21st Century.
