Tippet Rise Art Center Buildings in Montana – Opening News
Set beneath the big sky of Montana, Tippet Rise Art Center will welcome the public beginning June 17, 2016, offering local residents and international visitors a uniquely resonant experience of great classical music among sculptures and buildings that hug the land like natural formations. Founded by life-long philanthropists and artists Cathy and Peter Halstead on an 11,500-acre working sheep and cattle ranch, Tippet Rise celebrates the union of land, art, architecture, and music, bringing concerts by world-renowned musicians and large-scale contemporary sculpture to the hilltops and rolling meadows of Fishtail, Montana, midway between Billings and the edge of Yellowstone National Park.

Hemeroscopium residence
Hemeroscopium house “traps, a domestic space, and a distant horizon. And it does so playing a game with structures placed in an apparently unstable balance, that enclose the living spaces allowing the vision to escape. With heavy structures and big actions, disposed in a way to provoke gravity to move the space”. It took a year to engineer the structure but only seven days to build it, due to the total prefabrication of the different elements and a perfectly coordinated rhythm of assembly.

The project of the Musical Studies Centre in Santiago de Compostela is located in the Vista Alegre plot of land, a green area in the old quarter of Santiago. This parcel of land contains a group of buildings link to activities related to academic and research practices. The proposal has its origins in a competition asking for the insertion of a pavilion which program demanded the development of classrooms for the education of music, with defined volumetry, highness, occupation and materials, in a non-symmetric exercise, as it is set against the pavilion built by Portela, made of the same materials and similar dimensions.
