Bread Museum
The relationship of the two new buildings, housing the Bread Museum and the Baking Workshop, to the old Mill – its architecture, its materials, its machinery, the production and transformation – is a delicate yet harsh one. Without playing on words and without pursuing cheap mimicry, the new context highlights the Colognese Mill as a technical and poetic document of the past.

Igatu Museum, Bahia, Brazil

Igatu Museum
From the strangeness of the overturned boulders of the Vila de Igatu come our reference and concept for a Museum that will be constructed at the entrance of the Igatu Historic Park. This project seeks to rescue and re-invent the history of the Igatu Park: the ascension and passing of the activity of prospecting and mining diamonds, its role as a place that continues to offer delight to many adventurers, the decadence and silence that is simultaneously haunting and magical.

Brasil Arquitetura – Studio Information

Brasil Arquitetura was founded in 1979 by Francisco de Paiva Fanucci, Marcelo Carvalho Ferraz and Marcelo Suzuki, graduates of the University of São Paulo School of Architecture and Urban Design (FAU / USP).
Since then, the firm has developed projects for diverse programs: museums, residential buildings, private houses, boutiques, restaurants, and community and cultural centers. Additionally, the architecture firm is involved in furniture and exhibition design.

In 1986, the “Marcenaria Baraúna” a joinery workshop was set up, attending the in-house construction of wooden crafts and furniture designed by the architects. The architectural practice is currently run by partners Francisco Fanucci and Marcelo Carvalho Ferraz.
