Sandy Hook Permanent Memorial Design, Connecticut, design by SWA Landscape Architects – ‘The Clearing’ proposal was selected after an almost year-long design competition. The Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting occurred in 2012 when a 20-year-old fatally shot 20 children and six adults.
