Architects Foster + Partners’ competition winning scheme for a new luxury hotel and serviced apartments in the heart of Makkah has been revealed.
Design: Schiattarella Associati, Architects. Rome-based architecture firm win commission for refurbishing this building for around 50,000 spectators, beating 5 internationally known architectural firms.
Architect: Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture with SWA, landscape architecture. Jeddah Tower is to be the world’s tallest building, due to hit 1,008 m / 3,307 ft, that is 180 m / 591 ft taller than the Burj Khalifa. This skyscraper will have 167 floors.
Design: Zaha Hadid Architects, London. ZHA awarded first prize in the architecture competition to build this new building in Diriyah. The contest was for the 8,780m² head office of the Heritage Museum.
Design: Schiattarella Associati, Architects. Two international awards for Addiriyah Contemporary Art Center project in Saudi Arabia: ‘Concept Winner’ at this year’s ICONIC AWARDS and Honorable Mention at the American Architecture Prize 2016.
Design: Badih and Kantar Architects. This intimate residential complex is inspired by the way Mediterranean cities have evolved: low-rise buildings provide a relaxed informality with bridging terraces connecting many properties.

KSA hotel building esigned by Dar Al Handasah, the new Saudia Arabian accommodation project has a total built area of 1.4 million metre square and will be set in the Manafia area in Makkah’s central zone.

Design: Zaha Hadid Architects. With over 5 million residents, Riyadh’s population has more than doubled since 1990. To serve its fast-growing population, the city will build a new public transport system. The building will contain six platforms over four public floors and serve as a key interchange and terminus for 3 lines.
