International competition to find masterplanners for Thamesmead Waterfront
Thamesmead Waterfront Regeneration Competition
With approximately 2km of river frontage, Thamesmead Waterfront has the ability to deliver a new concept for waterfront living that is accessible, inclusive and productive. Surrounded by a richness of green spaces and a natural environment, the site is expected to include a strong retail, commercial and leisure offer as well as a substantial number of new homes, of all tenures.
On behalf of the Thamesmead Waterfront Joint Venture, a 50/50 joint venture partnership between Peabody and Lendlease, we are delighted to announce this competition to find forward-thinking strategic masterplanners who will start defining and shaping the type of place that Thamesmead Waterfront will become. The client is looking for teams with an inventive and deliverable approach, that will create a genuine synergy between people, place and nature.
This is a competition to find the right masterplanners with the right skills and attitudes, with whom an amazing project can be created. It is not a competition to identify a design solution, this will be created through a collaborative design process with stakeholders, once the masterplanners have been appointed.
Deadline for Stage 1 submissions is 12 noon on 25 November 2020

Library in Thamesmead Competition
The international architectural contest for Thamesmead Library attracted entries from 58 design teams. The new £4.5 million civic building, will sit within a masterplan by architects Proctor & Matthews and Mecanoo.
