“…I have nothing but good things to say about our guide. We were all very satisfied, and very impressed about his skills and knowledge. He was always on time, he was always in a great mood…and he seemed to know everything about every building we passed. We can truly recommend both e-architect and the guide!”

London Architecture Introduction
London is the capital of the UK. There is a wealth of architecture here – from historic churches and palaces to modern art galleries and offices. Key architects from the past are Sir Christopher Wren and Nicholas Hawksmoor. More recently architects such as Foster, Rogers, Stirling, Hadid and Piano have created major buildings in London.

Significant contemporary buildings include The Shard, Lloyds Building, Swiss Re building. Key 20th Century buildings include Centre Point and New Zealand House. Older architecture of historical importance that we can visit on the walking tour include buildings such as the Houses of Parliament, the Tower of London and Buckingham Palace.
To take in these London buildings some walking tours require transport, typically on the Tube. Major clusters of buildings exist in Westminster, the City of London and the Isle of Dogs. Important architecture is also scattered throughout the West End and in Kensington & Chelsea.
The Houses of Parliament building is due to have around six years of restoration – architects BDP won the architectural contract for renewing the Palace of Westminster building:

London Architecture Walking Tour – Standard Routes
e-architect now offer a standard range of London architecture tour routes. If these don’t suit we still offer tailored tour itineraries.
The standard London Architecture Walking Tour itineraries are:
– Central – buildings such as the National Gallery building extension, Royal Opera House, the Economist Building and New Zealand House.
– City – buildings such as the Lloyds Building, Swiss Re Tower, No. 1 Poultry and Tower 42.
– Knightsbridge – buildings such as One Hyde Park, Michelin House, Peter Jones Department Store and the Saatchi Gallery building.
All these buildings are possible to visit on our London Architecture Tours.
Please note the London Architectural Walking Tours are external visits except where free access is allowed. Specific requests for entry to buildings can be made ahead of an architectural walking tour.

London Architecture Walking Tours
London Architectural Tours can be arranged around your group’s needs, for example if you are interested in just contemporary architecture then our guides can form a tour for that, or if you are interested in just office buildings then again a specific itinerary can be drafted.
