A New History of Modern Architecture – Book by Colin Davies
A New History of Modern Architecture by Colin Davies and published by Laurence King in August 2017 is a comprehensive guide to architectural movements and influences from the beginning of the twentieth century to today, accompanied by stunning photography.
Questioning received notions about modern architecture, Colin Davies’s approach is entirely new and exciting, examining Art Nouveau and Dutch Modernism, alongside Louis Kahn and Brutalism to High Tech and Environmental Architecture.
Organised largely as a chronology, chapters overlap to allow for the examination of key themes including typologies, movements and biographical studies, as well as the impact of evolving technology and country-specific influences.
