Der neobarocke Kinosaal wurde 1924 bis 1925 von Ernst Lessing und Max Bremer im ersten bis dritten Stockwerk des ersten „Romanischen Hauses“ errichtet, das zwischen 1894 und 1896 von Franz Schwechten erbaut worden war. Um die denkmalgeschützte Fassade zu erhalten, wurde kein neues Gebäude errichtet, sondern das vorhandene entkernt sowie sein Innenhof überbaut. Das Kino war mit 1200 Sitzplätzen ausgestattet.
