This seven-storey residential building is integrated into a row of commercial and office buildings located at the former east port (Osthafen) in Berlin. Its luminous white appearance – grounded and at the same time graceful – makes the volume resemble a steamer.

Divided into two blocks the volume accommodates seven floors forming each forming an open U-shape onto the water and connected via glass interstice. The western block is topped by four additional floors in a separate volume overpeering the banks.

This major German railway station’s length is a massive 430 metres. Located on the site of the historic Lehrter Bahnhof, it was a stop on the Berlin S-Bahn suburban railway, until it opened as a main line station.
