Berlin is the capital of Germany. There is a wealth of good new architecture in the city, from the revitalised Reichstag by Foster + Partners to the Jewish Museum by Daniel Libeskind.
Key historic buildings include the Altes Museum by Karl Friedrich Schinkel.

This seven-storey residential building is integrated into a row of commercial and office buildings located at the former east port (Osthafen) in Berlin. Its luminous white appearance – grounded and at the same time graceful – makes the volume resemble a steamer.

Divided into two blocks the volume accommodates seven floors forming each forming an open U-shape onto the water and connected via glass interstice. The western block is topped by four additional floors in a separate volume overpeering the banks.
