The National Archaeological Museum of Mongolia is a multifunctional complex, containing research, educational, and exhibition space, and offices as well, all in all, making it the building floor area 50,000 sqm.
Design: GCP Arquitetos. The unusual Arena’s bowl footprint, with four open corners, is the result of a design strategy allowing the solution of many issues, such as Arena capacity flexibility after 2014 Word-Cup and local environment.
JDS ARCHITECTS’ KALVEBOD WAVES NOMINATED FOR BIG ARNE AWARD
JDS Architects is pleased to announce the nomination of its project Kalvebod Waves for the Big Arne Award. The award is given to completed works and initiatives that have raised the architecture of the metropolitan Copenhagen area in the past year. Kalvebod Waves is nominated for the award because it contributes to reuniting the city of Copenhagen with its harbor. To create this urban spot on the waterfront, JDS Architects teamed up with KLAR, Future Experience, U-turn and White Water Adventure Park.
The new law courts for the Flemish city of Antwerp is one of the practice’s major public buildings of the early 21st century. Like many projects by the practice, it reflects a vision of the city as a humane and democratic place with a commitment to the regeneration of urban life.

BNP Paribas Fortis outlines plans for its new headquarters designed by be baumschlager eberle. Following an architectural design competition run in 2013, BNP Paribas Fortis has chosen this architecture office to build its new HQ. After demolishing the current building, construction of the new premises is expected to be completed towards the end of 2021.
High-rise construction in North America: Toronto continues to lead the way, and remains North America’s high-rise boomtown with 130 skyscrapers currently under construction. New York City, the “real” center of North American high-rise architecture, only appears in second place on 91 buildings.

This three-storey row house was built on Passatge Marimon in the Sant Gervasi neighbourhood, with a direct view from the main thoroughfare of Avinguda Diagonal. The client wanted commercial premises on the basement floor, ground floor and mezzanine, and two floors of dwellings, with two apartments per landing.
Vegamar Selección Wine Shop designed by Fran Silvestre Arquitectos on the main shopping street of town, is a space for wine tasting and sales. The project aims to transmit the quality of the exposed products, as well as to maximize the feeling of amplitude inside the shop.
Design: BURO II & ARCHI+I Expansion of Nijvel’s Municipal Crèche. This project consists of expanding the ‘Children of the World’ crèche at Nij vel. The building is located in a park setting of rural significance, the Dodaine park.
Catching the Wave: Blobitecture’s liquid forms are changing our cities
Gigantic, alien-looking buildings are taking over the city centers of the world. These strange structures call to mind images such as a melted guitar, a mushroom-like parasol, or a UFO that has landed among us.

The City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia design by Santiago Calatrava architect, inaugurated eight years ago, is falling apart and authorities have said they will sue the architect responsible. Chunks of the mosaic façade of the centerpiece opera house fell off in high winds and authorities were forced cancel Christmas performances and to close the building to the public until further notice.
Design: Rudy Ricciotti. The Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisations is the flagship project of Marseille’s on-going architectural and cultural renaissance. Located on Marseille’s seafront the inner structure has been covered with a delicate ornamental skin of filigreed concrete.
