Design: Line and Space – during discussions defining the new facility, it became clear that there were a number of contradictions in the architectural program; the desire to provide a place suitable for active discourse as well as quiet solitude; the ability to enjoy reading in natural light while at the same time offering protection from its destructive nature.
Design: Steven Holl Architects. The School of Art & Art History at the University of Iowa, which also opened in September 2006, is awarded for successfully negotiating its site at the crossing of two orthogonal paths in the campus, at a place where the city grid is interrupted by natural landscape in the form of a small lagoon and a limestone bluff.
Design: Foster + Partners ; Co-architects: Smith Group Inc. Now designated as a National Historic Landmark, the former United States Patent Building building was rescued from impending demolition in 1958 by President Eisenhower
Design: UNStudio Architects. Sadly on February 5th 2008 this family summerhouse in Catskills, Upstate New York was destroyed by fire. The house was a simple rectilinear form floating above landscape, thus evoking seminal modern houses by Mies van er Rohe (Farnsworth) and Philip Johnson in America. The residential building was realised in April 2007.
Design: Pitsou Kedem Architects. A one story, private residence in the center of the country. The architectural concept was to create a structure with a continuous, wide space, divided by internal courtyards and movable partitions into smaller spaces used for a variety of different functions.
Design: Ben van Berkel / UNStudio. As part of the ‘RIBA Shanghai Windows Project 2014’ UNStudio was invited by China Xintiandi to create a gateway installation for the Xintiandi Style Retail Mall in Shanghai.

The project came out of the Sorrell Foundation’s ‘joinedupdesignforschool’ programme where pupils are given control and responsibility as clients. From inception through to completion, the project team worked directly for a client team of 11 pupils selected from years 9 and 10.

Located in the bucolic coast area of Natai Beach in Phuket, this place is characterized by its calm, the vast sands and the turquoise blue waters. The complex has 10 villas designed by different well-known international architects firms.
Andre Kikoski Architect completes the restaurant Sophie’s at Saks Fifth Avenue in Chicago, inspired by Sophie Gimbel, the iconic fashion designer and arbiter of American style at Saks for 40 years.
Design: Samoo Architects & Engineers. Planned as a 21st century business school that will be responsible for educating global leaders, the construction of Korea University’s Hyundai Motor Hall designed by Samoo Architects & Engineers has recently been completed.
Design: DENOLDERVLEUGELS. This is a renovation of an exclusive 300 sqm apartment in the ‘Amsterdam-Zuid’ area for a Dutch family. The apartment occupies the top 3 levels of a building complex built in 1925
Design: Building Trust International, Habitat for Humanity and Karuna Cambodia. Collaboration between three NGOs results in the construction of housing solutions that bring new life to housing design and delivery for low income families living in Cambodia.
