As the allure of urban living increases, luxury condos are quickly becoming the go-to choice for discerning home buyers, challenging the traditional preference for single-family detached homes. And with stunning properties like The Bristol Palm Beach starting to dot skylines in coastal and urban markets around the country, it’s easy to see why.

Exploring The Bristol Palm Beach

The Bristol Palm Beach is hard to ignore. Construction began in 2016 at the 1100 S. Flagler Drive property and was completed in late 2019. Considered the most expensive condominium ever built in Palm Beach County, it’s a visual masterpiece and a new standard in luxury living.

Built on the site of the former Chapel-by-the-Lake, formerly owned by First Baptist Church, The Bristol rises 24 stories above the water and features an impressive, unique design.

“The Bristol Palm Beach brings a new era to luxury waterfront living in West Palm Beach,” the website explains. “Perfectly appointed condominium residences with unparalleled exclusivity. Abounding elegance and panoramic views are only the beginning of the newest and yet most timeless residence in Palm Beach living. Situated perfectly with unobstructed views of the Intracoastal, ocean, and Palm Beach Island. The Bristol Palm Beach Condos is noted as being ‘a modern take on gracious living.’”

The Bristol consists of three-to-five-bedroom homes ranging from 3,700 square feet to 9,000 square feet. While the totality of the design is beautiful and luxurious, the attention to detail is not lost on discerning buyers. Ultra high-speed connectivity, high-efficiency and noise reducing laminated-insulated exterior glass, back-up generators, and private guest suites are the cherry on top.

The Convergence of Groundbreaking Design & Luxury Amenities

The Bristol’s architectural and design team is as distinguished as the building itself. The culmination of a long list of esteemed developers, architects, and designers, the Palm Beach high rise is nothing short of a piece of art.

The Bristol was the vision of Eugene Golub and Al Adelson. It was developed by Flagler Investors LLC. International architecture firms Solomon Cordwell Buenz and Revuelta Architecture International (PA) were responsible for designing the iconic tower, which features a glass facade and sweeping “flow-through” residences.

“Interiors are by New York-based interior designer Amir Khamneipur,” a release from The Bristol explains. “While his distinctly elegant creations have graced residential buildings such as Trump Tower, and magazines including Elle Décor, his impeccable tastes will soon outfit The Bristol’s exquisite lobby, exclusive club lounge, tranquil terrace gardens, and two-story fitness center & spa.”

Even the landscaping was meticulously planned and executed by internationally acclaimed EDSA, Inc. (which has a portfolio that includes some of the world’s most renowned resorts and buildings).

When you combine the design and architecture of The Bristol Palm Beach with the amenities, it’s easy to see why this development has been so revolutionary. Amenities include:

  • Fitness Center with yoga & personal training room
  • Beauty Suites for private hair, manicure, & pedicure appointments
  • Club lounge, card room, dining area, and catering kitchen
  • Outdoor lap pool, hot tub, & children’s pool
  • Dog walk area
  • His & Her Spa – hot tub, steam & sauna room, relaxation room, private massage treatment room
  • Conference rooms and business center
  • Private 2 and 3 air-conditioned car garages
  • Private air-conditioned storage areas
  • Laundry facilities with commercial ironing press

And then there are services like a full-time concierge, scheduled car service, 24-hour valet, and car wash services. It’s luxury meets stress-free living.

Advancing the Palm Beach Real Estate Market

It’s not everyday that a single development can revitalize an entire neighborhood and create new demand where little previously existed. However, The Bristol was able to do just that.

“Initially, real estate observers wondered whether island residents would be willing to cross the Intracoastal and live in a West Palm Beach address,” The Palm Beach Post explains. “But with no new condominiums on the island, The Bristol began to attract wealthy residents who wanted something new and contemporary, with less maintenance than their hedged mansions on the island.”

In February 2018, a Palm Beach philanthropist by the name of Sydell Miller purchased the entire 24th floor of the property. Previously, the 24th floor consisted of two units – one clocking in at 6.136 square feet and the other at 8,377 square feet – but he had them combined for the ultimate penthouse suite. That deal closed for $42.6 million.

Once the Miller purchase hit the news, it opened a lot of eyes and gave increased credibility to The Bristol. At that point, units began selling at a rapid rate. This caught the eye of other developers in the area and created a hot South Flagler corridor that’s now brimming with luxury buildings in 2023. It was the domino that got Palm Beach buyers to cross the bridge and purchase a condo in West Palm Beach.
