What is a Learning Continuity Plan?

A learning continuity plan is a specific set of steps that are to be followed if the current knowledge of a worker is lost. There are many different ways that work tasks can be transferred, including passing on knowledge verbally, making videos or writing documentation. An example of a learning continuity plan would be to create a video showing how to do the task, document it with detailed steps and then have someone else practice the skill in front of a camera.

This would allow for knowledge transfer while also making an instructional video.A learning continuity plan can also be created by having workers take notes during meetings or training sessions and post-it notes or whiteboard space on a wall where they can write out their processes to help others better understand their work.

If someone is interested in learning a new process, they can take notes from the person who developed it and create their own documentation of the skill. This will help to ensure that the skill will be learned properly and that understanding is passed on properly.
