3rd Prize Winner for Telecom Tower Competition Santiago, Chile

The young London-Moscow-Tbilisi-based practice Architects of Invention has received 3rd Prize for Telecommunications Tower in Santiago de Chile.
The concept of this tower suggests the volcano and optical phenomena such as the halo and the sun pillar. The ideas originate with the early modernists such as Rodchenko, Tatlin, Yakov Chernikhov and Malevich.

This international competition calls on and challenges participants to design or present a fresh concept for an Organic Skyscraper – a skyscraper that grows or changes form according to future requirement.
The skyscraper will serve as a tech city (technology and digital media centered companies) within the area. The design proposal should be one with topology that allows for the possibility to grow as the need for more space becomes necessary in the future to counter today’s ever-increasing number of city commercial skyscrapers which are under utilised.

The Wilmotte Foundation’s international PrixW competition is calling for entries from architectural students and recent graduates. For the first time since the Competition began, the prestigious PrixW will focus on a UK site. The competition invites entrants to propose a new cultural and events centre at the Tower of London, London’s most visited tourist attraction. Prix W hopes that a site with such a long and illustrious history will fire the imagination of young architects across the world.

BDP has won a RIBA competition to transform Rochdale town centre, seeing off a strong shortlist which included Adam Khan Architects, Atkins, Bauman Lyons and Land Use Consultants.

The competition was launched to improve the look of the town centre and better connect the two sides of the River Roch, following plans to reopen it.

Park Russia is an ambitious tourism and cultural project on over 1,000 hectares and 30 km south of Moscow near Domodedovo airport.
