Design: Bunker Arquitectura. This religious building is created to mourn the passing of loved ones. It overlooks the bay of Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico. The client brief was pretty simple, almost naïve: the chapel had to take full advantage of the spectacular views, and the sun had to set exactly behind the altar cross.
Trinity@Paya Lebar design by ONG&ONG: the choice of colours for the façade, and the folding of the façade planes are inspired by the canyons in the Israeli deserts while the façade lighting aims to carry the narratives of nature. The animation and vibrancy of the colours used are meant to mirror the dynamism of the sky.
This modernist architecture design by Alfonso Architects combines new construction and renovation: a 25,000 sqft building forming a sanctuary, administrative offices and classrooms. Also, two existing single level buildings were renovated and the exterior space including lighting and landscape was redesigned. The architect states, “The challenge was to establish an intimate church campus by creating a new exterior courtyard that would act as a catalyst for community interaction and as the physical nexus joining new and existing buildings.”

In the “Memory of Evangelical Bavaria”, the Church is archiving – amongst many other original documents – letters by Martin Luther and documents by popes and emperors, as well as numerous historically important books and paintings. The State Church archive has been designed to include passive air conditioning of the archives.
Founded in 1883, Singapore Life Church is one of the oldest Presbyterian Church in Singapore. The Church was previously housed on the same site in a 70s-built, modernist structure with an iconic sweeping visage.
