Du Parc Kempinski Private Residences on Lake Geneva

A Historical Restoration over a Century in the Making

Location: Mont-Pelerin, Chardonne, Lake Geneva

Du Parc Kempinski Private Residences

Du Parc Kempinski Private Residences is an address defined by its historical journey spanning a hundred years. From its regal opening in 1907 as Hotel du Parc to its recent re-birth as one of Switzerland’s most charming historical residential developments, the building’s fascinating past has determined its restoration and remains an integral part of its new design.

Enveloped by a landscape of outstanding natural beauty, Du Parc Kempinski Private Residences is bordered by the ornate terraces of the Lavaux UNESCO protected vineyards and overlooks one of Western Europe’s largest lakes; Lake Geneva. Comprising 24 private luxury residences, a grandiose lobby and an array of amenities including a 650 sqm spa and a private cinema, it will welcome its first homeowners later this year when it officially re-opens.

The Mont-Pelerin region, in which Du Parc Kempinski Private Residences lies, has long since been the retreat of an exclusive elite, including author Victor Hugo and poets Eugene Rambert and Edouard Grenier. As the area’s landmark property readies itself for its renaissance, the collection of impressive high-ceilinged rooms is prepared to play host to luxury lifestyle connoisseurs once more.

Du Parc Kempinski Private Residences is the result of an intricate restoration and renovation programme undertaken by luxury lifestyle developers Swiss Development Group and architects Bronnimann & Gottreux and Group H. It represents the re-imagining of a classic Belle Epoque hotel whose facades resonate several decades of history.

Above the 24 generous apartments, three iconic towers which were a fundamental part of the building’s original design, have been resurrected to accommodate a trio of striking penthouses which will come to market in 2013. Swiss Development Group has appointed luxury design house Candy & Candy as the base-build designers for the three triplex penthouses which will all enjoy stunning views and expansive balconies overlooking the lake.

Interior design and decoration for the rest of the building is being undertaken by internationally acclaimed designers BBG-BBGM, made famous by their work with W hotels and the St Regis Palace in New York. BBG-BBGM has closely examined the space, light and volume of the apartment shells so as to achieve finishes and interiors that accurately compliment the rich history of the property.

Wide windows have been especially sourced to reflect the beauty of the original façade and provide light and airy residences whilst every care has been taken to preserve original fixtures and fittings right through from spiralling banisters to exquisite cornicing. The nuances of the interiors create a sense of haute couture from bespoke Italian joinery to original beams, mirrors and panelling all contributing to this ambience.

All residences within Du Parc will be managed by Kempinski Hotel Group; Europe’s oldest luxury hotel group whose vision it is to wholeheartedly commit to provide perfection for all of its guests. All kitchen appliances will be supplied by Gaggenau for TEK Cuisine whilst EDSA will be taking care of the landscape architecture and design.

Two-bedroom 200 sqm apartments at Du Parc Kempinski Residences start from CHF 6 million (approximately £4million) and are available for sale through Rockefeller Estates +41 22 799 44 16. Residents will have access to a range of luxury on-site amenities including private wine cellars, a Davidoff cigar lounge, a 650sqm spa, an individual Givenchy treatment room and the neighbouring Kempinski Hotel.
