House_Sz – an open residence inwards and out – House Sz is a residence designed for a couple in their thirties. The goal was to provide a living environment with a rich atmosphere that is open, inwards and out, through the implementation of two different courtyards.

SHELL house in Japan. A large shell shaped structure finds itself in the middle of the woods. It is hard to determine what exactly the structure is, and unlike the surrounding caves and rocks, it clearly is not a part of nature – nor is it a ruin.

The house rests on a hill that commands a panoramic view of the Seto Inland Sea. Prior to the renovation a forest windbreak had obstructed the view of the sea from the house.
The Strata House is a townhouse style rental property located approximately 200meters on a hill from the Akashi Straits Bridge. The landowner, who loves living near the ocean, requested a design with “a view of the sea”.
This house is located on the foot of mountains in Nagata, Kobe. This location indicates a typical landform of this city, which is surrounded by mountains on the north and coastlines on the south.
The house attempts to be both a reflection into contemporary Japan’s family life (sense of family vs. privacy) as well as a solution to balance individual freedom and space with collective activities and time.
