Jundiaí House, Brazil

Estúdio Rossi Arquitetos designed a 450 m² contemporary house in Jundiaí, SP, for a couple with a teenage daughter. The main request from the residents was for a home with common areas integrated with leisure and the garden, creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor environments. The space was designed to be both a spacious gathering area for friends and a cozy place for intimate family moments. Additionally, the clients wanted exposed concrete as a defining element of the project. “Our dream for a long time was to have a functional and airy house, with plenty of natural light, conceived in exposed concrete, cast iron, and glass. Capturing these ideas and turning them into a design was made possible with the help of the professionals at Estúdio Rossi,” says the resident.

The house was designed from scratch, with a functional and intelligent layout. On the ground floor, the social area is the highlight, with a double-height living room integrated with the kitchen and gourmet space, creating a sense of spaciousness and brightness. For added privacy, an office was placed in a reserved room overlooking the garden. The upper floor houses the bedrooms, which are spacious, well-ventilated, and connected by a central hallway with a secondary kitchenette and storage closet, optimizing space usage.

Exposed concrete dominates the structure of the house, especially on the upper floor, where regular beams and large glass slab openings ensure abundant natural lighting. The front and back facades were clad in wood panels, while the sides feature exposed cement boards, creating an interesting play of light and shadow that enhances the modern, welcoming feel of the residence.

Another highlight of the project is the green sofa positioned at the heart of the home, which not only brings personality to the space but also visually integrates with the garden. The interior design, by Marilia Rossi, stands out for its careful selection of furniture and materials. The folded metal sheet staircase is a key design feature, while the sliding muxarabi panel in solid wood offers flexibility to open or close off the kitchen and gourmet area as needed, maintaining the visual continuity and functionality of the spaces.

In the outdoor area, the garden extends along the lateral setbacks, connecting to the pool and sun deck, which are shaded by a pergola of wood and metal, creating a leisure area that perfectly connects with the home’s interior. The residence was thoughtfully designed to be versatile, adapting both to the family’s daily life and to social gatherings. The harmony between materials, natural light, and the integration of spaces ensures that the home meets the residents’ needs with elegance and functionality.
