The hut is situated in a small Alpine village, part of Triglav national park with very strict rules of construction and architectural design. The client bought the site together with existing construction permit for the generic project.
All recreative, scientific and commercial program is organised in compact enclaves (islands and water parcels), with a maximum variation parallel to the dam and maximum functional use perpendicular to the dam.
Energy from the Earth: With its establishment in 1992 the Forschungszentrum Dresden – Rossendorf took over the task of developing a modern, internationally competitive research institution at this location. For this purpose steps had to be initiated to modernize buildings and infrastructure in order to run them on a commercially viable basis.
