Foster + Partners has been appointed to design the 71-hectare Campus Biometropolis masterplan in the south of Mexico City. Campus Biometropolis will be a centre of medical excellence, integrating care facilities alongside state-of-the-art teaching spaces, research institutions and laboratories.
Designed in collaboration by the London and Los Angeles offices of global architectural practice Gensler, and in conjunction with Kuwaiti developers Mabanee, Phase III of The Avenues – located in the Al Rai district of Kuwait City – will consist of more than 86,000 sqm of retail space when completed in early 2012.
Middlesbrough Council has granted planning consent for the development of a new oncology centre at The James Cook University Hospital. The project is being developed under the NHS P21 programme by Interserve Health with the London studio of international architects, NBBJ, as the lead designer.
The scheme involves the masterplanning of the Edward Street Quarter of Brighton and providing replacement accommodation for the existing occupants of the current office building, together with some expansion space which can also be used for the relocation of staff from other locations.
